Doctor Who Expericence 2011 - Review pt 1 (SPOILER FREE!)

Hello...

So... walking down the road I eventually come to a rather large building. Outside the building there is a sign with a TARDIS saying "Doctor Who Experience". There is also a friendly looking security man on the door. I show him a few pieces of paper, which seem to be looked upon with vague aproval, then get waved, along with my 2 companions for the day, into the building.

I should probably say at this point that my ticket was a priority preview ticket. Going today (17th Feb 2011) the whole place was very sparsely populated. I can imagine that when this place opens to the public on Sunday there will be a fair amount of queing... My imagination is helped substantially by the large que to the left of the entrance to Olympia 2, where the exhibition is being held.

Entering the reception area, I am approached by another security guard who also shows a keen interest in the pieces of paper I hold in my hand. He checks them thoroughly, and again the three of us are waved through. I turn along a corridor and am instructed to "go to floor 2" when I reach the lift. Having substantial experience with lifts in the past, I think little of this and call the lift down. However, upon the doors of the lift opening I see there is already a man inside. This mans job (apparently) is to simply press the lift button for me. Thinking that this is the sort of thing that only ever happens in films or posh hotels, I am impressed. The lift doors close.

As the lift journeys up to the second floor, I begin to wonder what sort of things the exhibition will have in store for me... and if I should try and make polite conversation with this lift attendant. The lift draws slowly to halt, the doors slide open, and suddenly I hear booming around me a VERY familiar theme tune...

A whole new world... with men on bicycles playing guitars

So, I have decided to start a blog...
I'm not sure as yet what I will "blog" about or indeed if anyone will actually find it interesting... or read it at all. Therefore if you're reading this (unless you're me... which you're probably not) then HELLO!

This blog will most likely be an occasional dive into things that I think are odd or interesting, or things that make me think... This blog is also an attempt to amuse myself, and hopefully you can find it amusing too.

An example:
Yesterday while at the train station I saw a man on a bike wearing a guitar. Obviously that's not a particularly interesting observation, and if I were a proper blogger I'd probably be able to get a good 3 or 4 paragraphs out of that observation.

I hope you're still with me and will subscribe!
